About Great Britain Half Pennies
The Islands of Great Britain have been known to humankind for nearly a million years, first settled by prehistoric explorers as they branched out from their earlier abodes. Up until about 6,500 years ago, Great Britain was connected to the mainland by a land bridge that became submerged as the last major glaciers receded and global sea levels rose. Cultural legends persist even now about the lost lands.
